Copeland Delivers Walk-Off Win for Wolverines
Atlanta got a big-time effort from pitcher Ron Cwiklinski, but it wasn't enough to keep the Detroit Wolverines from winning the game, 6-5. Cwiklinski threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Generals fall to 6-9 and continue their lethargic start to the 1977 season.

Gasper Copeland was the walk-off hero for Detroit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wolverines catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"If we keep winning the close games," Copeland said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
