In a low-scoring affair between the Chicago Traders and the Milwaukee Dairymen, pitcher Larry Cox was the difference between victory and defeat. The Chicago right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Traders win. Randy Weisenberg recorded the save, his 7th. Chicago, with the win, is 12-6.
Ed White, who is a two-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. White contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Chicago up, 3-0.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley. "Obviously."
