Montreal Defeats Boston, 5-1
|
Starting pitcher Fred Anthony had a solid game. He was a big reason the Montreal Habitants throttled the Boston Terriers, 5-1. Montreal, now 11-7, has played well in the early going.
Montreal relied on the hitting of Gary Martin to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Habitants on top, 1-0. For the game, Martin had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I like our moxie," said Habitants manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
