Twin Cities Beaten, 2-0, by Los Angeles
|
Dan Turner, the 4th overall pick in the 1970 draft, never let the Northmen get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Pobladores to a win, 2-0. Los Angeles pitcher Carlos Novoa got the win. He's now 1-0. Jeff Jordan was tagged with the loss. At 2-0, the Pobladores have played well so far.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Bobby Bridges to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pobladores on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Turner.
