Seagulls Roll to 9-1 Win Over Pobladores
|
San Francisco starter Tim Stambaugh had a strong outing against the Los Angeles Pobladores at San Vicente Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 9-1 win. Stambaugh, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. San Francisco goes to 2-0 with the win.
San Francisco used a well-timed hit by Darrell Martin to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Seagulls ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I had a good game," said Martin. "Winning makes it even better."
