A good performance from catcher Rick Hotz helped the New York Knickerbockers defeat the Cincinnati Packers, 10-5. Hotz went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Knickerbockers. New York goes to 12-7 with the win.

Jeff Madsen had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for New York. With the bases loaded and the Knickerbockers leading 5-4, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said New York manager Timothy Widholm.
