Dairymen 2-1 Victors Over Chicago
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Milwaukee Dairymen and the Chicago Traders. Milwaukee won it, 2-1. Milwaukee starter Dan Valenti was in command. Milwaukee, now 8-12, is off to a slow start.
Champ Arkle had a direct impact on the outcome. Arkle contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Milwaukee up, 2-1.
"That's baseball," said Chicago manager Larry Link. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
