Eagles Paste 4-3 Loss on Packers
Washington third baseman Jerry Duersch made his presence felt in the 4-3 Eagles triumph over the Cincinnati Packers. Duersch went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. The win puts Washington at 11-8.

Washington took a 4-2 lead on Duersch's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Joe Clabaugh in the top of the sixth, propelled Washington to the win.

Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
