Explorers Clip Industrials 2-1 in LCS Contest
|
A strong performance from pitcher Dennis Jackson was not enough for the Pittsburgh Industrials, who were stopped by the visiting St. Louis Explorers, 2-1, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. The Explorers never truly figured out the right-handed Jackson, who threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Still, the Explorers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.
St. Louis took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Don Fox hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put St. Louis in front, 1-0.
"Credit where credit is due," said Fox, "this was a team win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Corps of Discovery Stadium in St. Louis.
