The Baltimore Lords knocked off the New York Empires, 7-1, at Queens Field. Mike Caito was a big reason Baltimore won. The shortstop was 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The winner was Baltimore reliever Don Achber, now 1-0. The loser was Jon Pierce. The Lords, now 2-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Bob Carter helped out the Baltimore cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
