San Diego Win Evens Series at 2
|
The San Diego Captains defeated the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-4, in Game 4 of the League Championship Series. Doing his part was starter Ed Payne, who threw 5.0 innings allowing 4 runs. The win moves San Diego into a 2-2 tie with Pittsburgh in the series.
Greg Kaminski drove in one run for San Diego. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Kaminski had a clutch at-bat. Facing Pittsburgh hurler Jeff Munoz, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Captains a 5-4 lead.
"Ed did a nice job," said Captains manager Joe Mack.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Diego Sporting Complex in San Diego.
