Castro Blasts Habitants, Empires Take Game 4, 6-5
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Montreal Habitants team, the New York Empires had a tough assignment. Al Castro delivered.
The Empires right fielder was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 6-5. Castro, 28, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means New York now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Castro turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the New York right fielder dialed up a 3-run home run. Just like that, New York's 5-3 deficit turned into a 6-5 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Castro.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Queens Field in New York.
