Burros Heading to World Series
|
The Denver Burros are heading to the World Series, having narrowly defeated the San Diego Captains.
Denver edged San Diego in the series 4-3, with a win at Gates Crescent Park in the clinching game by a 5-3 margin.
Ricardo Castillo turned in a strong offensive performance for the Burros and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Castillo continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .333 with a .333 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Denver Burros will play against the Detroit Wolverines in the next round. Detroit won their series against the San Francisco Seagulls 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
