Bobcats Clip Industrials, 6-5, in LCS Contest
|
Handed an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the League Championship Series, the Pittsburgh Industrials could not close the deal.
Game 4 went into extra frames and the Cleveland Bobcats emerged victorious, taking a 11-inning, walk-off win by the final score of 6-5. Cleveland second baseman Benito Olivas was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the win at Lakefront Stadium to drag the Bobcats back to parity. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.
The decisive blow was delivered by Charlie Wright in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Gordie Kleiss to win the game for Cleveland. The home crowd went nuts.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Pittsburgh skipper Vincent Wicker said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland.
