The inspired effort of Chicago second baseman Buck DeFalco was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-4, to the Dallas Wranglers. DeFalco was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Wranglers raised their record to 14-6.
Had Mike Weatherby not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Weatherby hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Wranglers.
"We hit the ball hard," said Dallas manager William Albrecht. "Line drive after line drive."
