Pittsburgh center fielder Vic Roberts helped his team beat the Denver Burros, 11-6. Roberts went 3 for 5 for the Industrials. Bob Briggs was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Ramirez. Ike Travis collected his 7th save.

Pittsburgh used the hitting of Jim Shuman to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Industrials on top, 3-0. For the game, Shuman had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Shuman.

With the loss, Denver is 14-7.
