Bobcats Win, 5-1
|
Cleveland Bobcats starter Fred Ahrens turned in a top-notch performance against the San Diego Captains at San Diego Sporting Complex. The result was a win for the Bobcats, 5-1. Ahrens picked up the win for Cleveland, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Earning his 3rd save for Cleveland was Matt Rutledge.
Cleveland relied on the hitting of Rich Cafarelli to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bobcats on top, 2-0. For the game, Cafarelli had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's a long season," said Cafarelli. "We'll keep working to improve."
Despite the win, Cleveland, now 6-14, is off to a terrible start.
