Chirico Shines in 8-4 Cleveland Win
The Cleveland Bobcats defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 8-4, at Flatbush Park. Cleveland was led by 1972 Rookie of the Year Award winner Phil Chirico, who went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. The loss drops Brooklyn to 11-10.

Cleveland grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Chirico hit a 3-run home run off Jorge Sandoval. His 2nd home run of the season put the Bobcats out in front, 5-2.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Chirico. "You've got to get results."
