Empires Lose at Home, 5-0
|
The umbrellas came out during the Toronto-New York contest at Queens Field.
The Toronto Hurons faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Danilo Molina, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Queens Field by a final score of 5-0. Molina went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. New York is 11-11 after the loss.
Toronto used a well-timed hit by Bill Hunt to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Hurons ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Said losing manager Jose Placeholder: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
