The New York Knickerbockers topped the Philadelphia Quakers, 6-1, in National Baseball League action at Quakers Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Dario Fontanez. After losing, Philadelphia is 9-13.

Dave Lester came through with a big-time hit for New York. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

New York manager Sean Kelly said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
