Dairymen Deal Eagles 4-1 Setback
|
The Milwaukee Dairymen went home winners at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Lewis Smith. Smith stifled the Washington Eagles, enabling Milwaukee to grab the 4-1 win. The Dairymen, now 8-15, have not found much traction so far in 1968.
The Dairymen got a big at-bat from right fielder Melvin Perez. For the game, Perez was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Perez said.
