Industrials Suffer One-Run Loss at Cleveland
|
The Cleveland Bobcats had to overcome a fine effort from Pittsburgh pitcher Bob Briggs to win, 4-3, at Lakefront Stadium. Briggs went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. With the loss, Pittsburgh sinks to 11-11.
The Bobcats got a big at-bat from left fielder Phil Chirico. For the game, Chirico went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Cleveland a 3-1 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
