The Brooklyn Bluebirds withstood a fine game by Cleveland center fielder Phil Chirico at Flatbush Park, to upend the Bobcats, 9-5. Chirico was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Bill Keiser in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Steve Cheatham took the loss. The loss puts Cleveland at 11-11.

Rick Pace hit a 2-run double off Steve Cheatham in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Bluebirds in front, 6-5. In addition to the double, Pace had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Pace told the Brooklyn Citizen.
