A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the New York Empires and Montreal Habitants.

Andy Humphrey, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 18 in 1973, had a strong outing for the New York Empires against the Montreal Habitants at LaSalle Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-3 win. Montreal now is 13-9.

New York used the hitting of Al Castro to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Empires on top, 3-0. For the game, Castro had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Humphrey.
