Drillers Fall Short, 5-4, at Twin Cities
|
The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at Twin Cities Stadium, taking down the Houston Drillers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Frank D'Amico was a big reason why. Earning his 6th save for Twin Cities was Rick Lindstrom. The Northmen, now 15-8, have been playing some good baseball.
Carl Jacobs, who finished 5th in the ABL in extra base hits with 55 in 1974, took Houston hurler Dick Knight deep in the bottom of the fifth. His solo home run put the Northmen on top, 5-4. In all, Jacobs had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Jacobs. "Obviously."
