New York Loses, 7-6, to Milwaukee in 13
The Milwaukee Dairymen faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Jack Forbes, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Knickerbocker Stadium by a final score of 7-6 in 13 innings. Forbes went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Guillermo Ortega earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The Dairymen are off to a tough start, getting just their 7th win in 22 games.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Larry Morford came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing New York pitcher Bob Brion, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Milwaukee on top, 7-6.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Morford, "but we got it done."
