Antonio Valerio was locked and loaded, helping the Brooklyn Bluebirds beat the Chicago Traders, 4-0. The win puts Brooklyn at 15-9.
The Bluebirds got a big at-bat from catcher Jimmy Mara. For the game, Mara was 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Brooklyn a 2-0 lead.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Valerio.
