Philadelphia Beats Kansas City, 6-3
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Philadelphia-Kansas City ballgame.
Philadelphia pitcher Arnold Jarry did his part in helping his team beat the Kansas City Bulls, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 7 innings, Jarry surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs.
Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Jim Vadnais to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Quakers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Jarry.
The Quakers, now 16-8, have been red hot.
