Slumping Eagles Lose 7th Straight
|
The St. Louis Explorers had to overcome a good performance from Washington pitcher Rich Moreland to claim a 3-1 win at Monument Field. Moreland went 6 innings and allowed no runs. St. Louis is now 13-11.
Adam Voeller came through with a big-time hit for St. Louis. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Washington skipper Brandon Tucker.
