John Pardoe, who is tied for 8th in the ABL in wins with 3, never let the Drillers get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Lords to a win, 5-1. Pardoe got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. The Drillers drop to 11-13 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1977 season.

Mike Sheffield contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped Baltimore get the win.

"John made his pitches," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
