Lords Score Late to Beat Habitants, 4-3
|
The Montreal Habitants got a sterling performance from pitcher Bob Schar, but the Baltimore Lords still prevailed, 4-3. Schar threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Baltimore, now 16-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of John Raymond to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lords on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Good teams find a way to win close games," Raymond said.
