Frederick Hits 2 home runs in Blockbusters Win
Los Angeles and Cleveland took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

Due in large part to second baseman Ken Frederick, the Los Angeles Blockbusters sunk the Cleveland Bobcats, 7-5. Frederick was 2-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Ralph Weintraub, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 18 in 1971, was the winner. He's now 1-3. The loser was Myron Baird. The save was credited to Tom Benson, his 6th.

Ernie Ronnebaum, who finished 2nd in the NBL in on-base percentage with .443 in 1969, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with 2 walks.

Los Angeles manager John Trausch was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The win gives Los Angeles a record of 14-12.
