The Houston Drillers defeated the Chicago Hawks, 4-3, in American Baseball League action at Sam Houston Field. Houston pitcher Oscar Contreras had a standout performance. The loss puts Chicago at 11-16.
Jackie Frost was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Drillers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Put a star next to this win," Contreras said.
