Bulls Lose to Blockbusters in Walk Off
|
Kansas City got a valiant performance from pitcher Mel Hartman, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Blockbusters. Los Angeles won the game, 2-1. Hartman threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Reliever Dick Berry picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Ray McGuire took the loss. The Bulls fall to 11-15 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1967 season.
The most significant at-bat for Los Angeles came with the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. Blockbusters catcher Juan Alicea hit a triple to win the game.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Alicea.
