Bobcats Suffer 7-2 Road Loss
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters picked up a win at Blockbuster Stadium, knocking off the Cleveland Bobcats, 7-2. Starting pitcher Dario Fontanez played a key role in the triumph. Fontanez picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The Bobcats fall to 12-15 and continue their uneven start to the 1972 season.
The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from second baseman Ken Frederick. For the game, Frederick went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-1 lead.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Fontanez.
