The Houston Drillers defeated the Seattle Emeralds, 10-6. First Baseman Mike Lockhart deserved a large share of the credit. Lockhart went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Drillers. Jerry Zaruba got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 6.2 innings.
