The Cincinnati Packers scored a tight, 5-4 win versus the San Diego Captains at Roman Arena. Cincinnati pitcher John Stoddard held his own in the contest. The loss drops San Diego to 17-11.

Lee McGee drove in one run for Cincinnati. The 31-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ed Prater. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Stoddard.
