Industrials Lose at Home, 2-0
|
In a tight tilt between the Kansas City Bulls and the Pittsburgh Industrials, Skip Carter was the deciding factor. The Kansas City left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Carter, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The win gives Kansas City a record of 15-11.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Mario Alva to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bulls on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Skip is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Kansas City manager DD Martin.
