Generals Lose, 5-1, at Mission Field
|
San Francisco Seagulls pitcher Paul Wiley was in top form, leading his team past the Atlanta Generals, 5-1. In 9 innings, Wiley surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Seagulls, now 20-7, have been red hot.
Scott Wagner had a big 2-run home run for the Seagulls in the bottom of the third inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Rob Banas, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in wins with 3, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Seagulls on top, 3-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Wagner.
