The home crowd had a good time watching the Boston Terriers and Chicago Hawks get after it.

Chicago Hawks starter Ken Eldridge turned in a top-notch performance against the Boston Terriers at Hyde Park Stadium. The result was a win for the Hawks, 6-1. The loss lowers the Boston record to 11-16.

The Hawks got a big at-bat from center fielder Andy Bires. For the game, Bires went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Chicago a 3-1 lead.

"I executed the game plan," said Eldridge.
