Drillers Walk It Off for 16th Win of Season
Due in large part to second baseman Lou Ward, the Houston Drillers sunk the Seattle Emeralds, 8-6. Ward was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With their winning streak at 6, the Drillers have raced to a strong start this season.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Ward hit a sinker from Dooley Brewer for a 2-run home run. The Drillers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This place was rockin'," Ward said.
