Fading Generals Lose 8th Straight
The Pobladores grabbed a win, 5-4, at San Vicente Park, overcoming a fine effort from Atlanta pitcher Ron Cwiklinski. Cwiklinski went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Los Angeles reliever Rick Golia snagged the win, upping his record to 1-3. Jeff Jordan shouldered the loss. The Generals, now 7-18, continue their inauspicious start.

Bobby Bridges was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pobladores left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was electric at the end," Bridges said.
