Dallas second baseman Dick Howard had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Howard was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as Seattle beat the Wranglers, 5-4. The win was credited to 30-year old right-handed pitcher Carroll Reynolds in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Steve Coomes took the loss. Picking up the save was Sergio Cisneros, his 1st.

Seattle used a timely hit from Dustin Guest to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Emeralds ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We were the better team," crowed Guest.

The win puts Seattle at 15-12.
