The Atlanta Generals went home winners at Atlantic Station Field, thanks in large part to starter Rob Banas. Banas stifled the Detroit Wolverines, enabling Atlanta to grab the 2-0 win. After losing, Detroit is 2-1.

The Generals had to work out of trouble in the top of the seventh. The score was 2-0, Atlanta, with no one out. Detroit, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Bill Taylor dug in at the plate, but on a 2-2 splitter, he popped out.
