Generals Fall Short, 5-4, at New York
|
The New York Empires beat the Atlanta Generals, 5-4. New York pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Jimmy Bell led the way. The Generals, now 11-18, continue their slow start.
Tim Foster, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in home runs with 6, chipped in for New York with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort," Foster said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
