Bobcats Sneak By Bluebirds, 4-3
|
The Cleveland Bobcats faced a tough opponent in Brooklyn pitcher Dave Gaultney, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Flatbush Park by a final score of 4-3. Gaultney went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. Bill Smith picked up the save for Cleveland, his 3rd of the year. The win puts Cleveland at 18-11.
Cleveland used a timely hit from Frank Bohley to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bohley, "and then get after it again."
