The Los Angeles Pobladores beat the Houston Drillers, 6-5, at San Vicente Park. Los Angeles first baseman Chuck Gunter had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Los Angeles goes to 12-19.

Paul McCarthy was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pobladores left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," McCarthy said in reaction to the win.
