Diehl Deals Twin Cities 2-0 Setback
|
In a low-scoring affair between the New York Empires and the Twin Cities Northmen, pitcher Elliot Diehl was the difference between victory and defeat. The New York left-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Empires win. The win moves New York to a record of 17-13.
Diehl was in the zone all game. He frustrated Twin Cities hitters while giving the Empires 7.2 innings of quality work. Diehl threw 108 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 9 punchouts.
"I believe in our guys," said New York skipper John Harris. "I like the energy they're playing with."
