The Washington Eagles wanted a good start from Alex Fonseca -- and he delivered one. The result was a 3-1 Washington win over the Cincinnati Packers at Roman Arena. Picking up the save was Richie Kingery, his 5th. Cincinnati falls to 18-14.

Washington used the hitting of Gary Long to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Eagles on top, 1-0. For the game, Long had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Eagles," said Long.
