Marston Slugs Knickerbockers to 5-3 Win
|
New York center fielder Bob Marston had a 5-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 5-3. Jack Forbes, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. New York is off to a hot start at 21-10.
Early in the game, Marston had a 3-run home run for New York. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Knickerbockers on top, 3-0.
"We're producers not directors," said Marston. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
