Industrials Deal Bobcats 7-1 Defeat
|
Pittsburgh picked up a win at Lakefront Stadium, bumping off the Cleveland Bobcats, 7-1. Pitcher Bob Briggs was a major reason the Industrials emerged victorious. Briggs, now 4-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Industrials, now 20-11, have been playing some good baseball.
It could have been a different outcome for Pittsburgh, had it not been for Alex Robinson, the two-time All-Star . Robinson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-0.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Briggs. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
