Bobby Strange made an impact in the 11-7 Chicago win over Dallas. Strange, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1970 draft, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Chicago goes to 13-18.

Ray Gardner came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 11-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I believe in our guys," said Chicago skipper Mike Flaherty. "I like the energy they're playing with."
