Bulls Win, 4-1, Versus Chicago

Kansas City and Chicago duked it out and the Bulls came out victorious.
The exploits of right fielder Ken Durick, who is tied for 10th in the NBL in extra base hits with 14, helped the Kansas City Bulls defeat the Chicago Traders, 4-1. Durick went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Waldo Hardaway, who is tied for 8th in the NBL in quality starts with 5, was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.
Kansas City used a timely hit from Chris Taylor to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulls ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Durick told the Kansas City News.
Kansas City goes to 15-17.
