Burros Prevail, 4-2, Over Cincinnati
|
Denver turned a good performance from starting pitcher Kim Glanden into a 4-2 triumph over the Cincinnati Packers at Gates Crescent Park. The winning pitcher was Glanden, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Frank Combs, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
The Burros got a big at-bat from third baseman Alex Martinez. For the game, Martinez was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Denver a 2-1 lead.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Glanden.
Denver, now 4-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
