Bluebirds Win at Chicago, 6-3
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds picked up a win at Union Field, knocking off the Chicago Traders, 6-3. Starting pitcher Dick Conway was a big reason why. Earning his 5th save for Brooklyn was Bob Hill. The Traders drop to 14-20 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1967 season.
Dave Fogarty, the 22-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fogarty contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Brooklyn up, 4-3.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Fogarty.
