The home crowd had a good time watching the Detroit Wolverines and San Francisco Seagulls get after it.

The San Francisco Seagulls picked up a win at Mission Field, downing the Detroit Wolverines, 5-1. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Arturo Lopez, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 8 innings, Lopez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.

Jose Barroso had a big run-scoring double for the Seagulls in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Larry Black, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in complete games with 2, and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seagulls ahead, 3-1.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Lopez.

The loss drops Detroit to 18-14.
