Industrials Win at Kansas City, 4-2
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Pittsburgh Industrials and Kansas City Bulls.
The Pittsburgh Industrials knocked off the Kansas City Bulls, 4-2, in National Baseball League action at Independence Field. Pittsburgh pitcher and Springfield, Massachusetts, native Jerry Zaruba had an outstanding performance. The Industrials, now 19-14, have won 5 in a row.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chip Berry? The Pittsburgh shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Industrials on top, 4-2. For the game, Berry had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"It was a real good effort by Jerry," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker. "I loved the way he bore down."
