Los Angeles Makes Cleveland 2-1 Losers
|
Larry Mitchell never let Cleveland get something going. The Los Angeles right-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Blockbusters to a 2-1 win. The Blockbusters improved their record to 14-19 by beating Cleveland.
The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from right fielder Jim Brookins. For the game, Brookins went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Brookins told the Los Angeles Herald. "And padding the Los Angeles win column."
