Getting a good performance from left fielder Mike Wells, the Houston Drillers defeated the Toronto Hurons, 8-4. Wells was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Drillers. The Drillers, now 17-16, have won 4 in a row.

With Houston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Wells hit a cutter from Mike Beers for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.

Wells told a Houston Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
