Packers Tag Captains with 3-2 Loss
The Cincinnati Packers earned a close win over the San Diego Captains, thanks in part to Scott Dubyak. The Cincinnati left-hander, who finished 2nd in the ABL in wins with 19 in 1969, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Dubyak, who signed a 4-year contract worth $1,372,000 on 01/21/1977, went the distance for Cincinnati. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. With the loss, San Diego falls to 17-16.

With Cincinnati leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Dubyak hit a run-scoring single off San Diego hurler Bret Weingartz. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Dubyak and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"I was able to really locate my pitches tonight," said Dubyak.
