Detroit Gets 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between Detroit and Los Angeles, pitcher John Fredrick was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 win. Detroit is now 23-12, 3 games up in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
Detroit took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Eddie Taylor hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Detroit in front, 1-0.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Kurt Peterson.
