New York got a terrific game from third baseman Rick Lintner. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Twin Cities, 6-3. Lintner was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Twin Cities is now 14-21, New York 18-16.

Had Buddy Shingleton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Shingleton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Northmen.

Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim praised his team's "energy."
