Blockbusters Beaten By Packers, 13-3
|
The Cincinnati Packers had no problem beating the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 13-3, at Roman Arena. Stan Timmons, who is a two-time All-Star, led the onslaught. He went 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 4 runs for Cincinnati. Armando Estrada got the win, improving to 5-1. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. With the victory, the Packers upped their record to 21-15.
Glen Bennett was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk for Cincinnati. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Cardell Franklin. It was his 9th walk of the season.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Timmons.
